A Message from the Chief Executive Dog's Person
My first great puppy find was wolf hound named Toby,
who came to me with a broken nose and broken
and mangled leg. While he healed up nicely after
a number of surgeries, I just couldn’t find a bed that made him comfortable,
so I set out to research what pets want in bedding.
Over the years I managed to purchase one of practically every dog bed
on the market in search of the perfect bed; sort of like the Princess and the Pea.
100’s of dog beds later, and I still hadn’t found the perfect bed, so I undertook to make
The ideal bed for my latest puppy, Bella.
Veterinary research teaches that dogs have a strong burrowing instinct and prefer
to have a recessed area in which to sleep, so the bed needed a cave
type design. Given that most dog beds flatten out after a session of doggie
scratching and tamping the bed needed a baffled design to support the musculoskeletal
system of the pet, especially if you’ve got a pup with any joint issues.
For my purposes I wanted something that looked cool, was hypoallergenic and washable.
After researching available fibers we determined that doing good while doing no
harm made the best sense and chose to make the Bella Bed® and Bella Binky® out of
recycled cotton fiber that was soft for your pet and kind to the environment. We also
chose high loft fiberfill made from recycled PET for the Bella Bed® filler.
The product focus groups with pet lovers and veterinarians helped to
refine the design of the Bella Beds® and Bella Binkys® to ensure the perfectly
simple designs would simply be perfect for your pet. I hope your
pets love them as much as mine do.
